Hot stone back massage

Using a variety of massage techniques from fast and stimulating to slow and relaxing to help destress, relax and relieve pain. This massage is given to the Scalp, Shoulder, Face and Neck. Full 45minute treatment includes arms and hands. This treatment can be given seated or laying depending on clients preference.

*Please note, we are above a gym so there is often loud music and noises. Please enquire if you would like quieter times to book.

Both use a firm pressure, Sports massage is more targeted to a specific injury or area and can involve additional techniques. Deep Tissue is generally a more even balanced session.

Pressure can be determined during the session. Sports Massage does not have to be painful to see results. It is important that your muscles can relax so that they respond well to the treatment.

Treatments range from 30-90mins depending on what the client wants and needs.

Using warm basal stones to relax the muscles quicker and allowing us to get deeper into the muscles. We offer full or half body treatments and pressure of the massage to client preference. We can also use cold stone therapy within the treatment to aid in reducing inflammation to specific areas.

Dry Needling can be used to treat fascia, muscle tissue, tendon and ligament injuries. The needles can trigger a twitch response in the muscle fibres which then provides faster results in decreasing pain and dysfunction. Other benefits include increases localised blood flow and range of motion, Reduction of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain and muscular tension.

This is not acupuncture, although they share a common tool. There are no historical ties and different research has been carried out.

Dry Cupping helps aid soft tissue injuries and reduce pain or discomfort. Neovascularisation (new blood vessel formation) occurs in response to blood being drawn into the tissue. This increases nutrient and oxygen content within the area. The vacuum causes micro-trauma to the tissues which initiates the natural healing process. The cups leave a circular hicky like mark and disappear within a few days.

Radial Shockwave increases blood flow to the injured area and initiates the inflammatory response to accelerate the natural healing process. Research has shown after a few sessions, chronic tendinopathy taken back to acute stages through dissolving of calcium deposits.

The shockwaves are mechanical sound waves, not electric shocks.

Who's Behind PHYKS?

I'm Hannah, I am a Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist who has moved into educating clients on Prehab and injury rehab. Other certificates incl; RehabU Movement & Performance Therapy Specialist and Dynamic Shoulder Conditioning Specialist.
I love learning about the anatomy and what the human body can do. There is never an end to what there is to know about the body, so I am constantly looking for the next course or tutors to grow with.

My experience with clients is the same. Every body is different and responds to treatments in their own ways. Developing treatments with a client is individual and I love seeing the outcomes we achieve together.

What Does PHYKS Mean?

PHYKS, pronounced Fix

I wanted to name the business using words that define what the business does, help to fix bodies.  Words like physical and physique came up on my note pad and eventually the lovechild "PHYKS" was born.

Tah Dah!

Now What?

1. Book an appointment.

(I recommend 45min minimum for first appointment)
2. Come have a chat with me
3. Leave feeling possibly a bit sore but better than you have for a while!

Please note: There are some contraindications which mean we cannot treat you. Pregnancy being one. If you have a medical condition and unsure if you can have a treatment then please speak to your doctor. You will fill out a form on arrival and we may need a doctors approval letter to confirm we can treat you.

TESTIMONIALS

“Hannah is brilliant at what she does! The relief it has given my body is insane. More flexible, not suffering with any aches or pains. Highly recommend"

“You're actually a miracle worker! My back and shoulders haven't felt this free and not tight in years"

“Best sports massage ever. Hannah really applies the pressure, intense in the best way and feels like the body is already responding during the treatment. Scientific and comprehensive approach and good advice on post-treatment stretching and mobility work."

“Hannah really really knows her stuff, very strong on the anatomy and movement mechanics side of things both from study and from being very athletic herself, and she must have very strong hands - I've struggled in the past to find a decent deep firm pressure sports massage, but Hannah delivers!"
